Dr. Matthew Richardson

Dr. Richardson was born in Medford, OR and graduated form Phoenix High School. He left the valley to attend Willamette University in Salem, OR where he received his Bachelor of Science emphasis in MicroBiology. After Salem he returned to Southern Oregon attending SOU where he was also worked with the Sports Medicine Department as a student athletic trainer. While attending SOU Dr. Richardson worked for Dr. Doug Smith at Bison Vision Center in Medford where he was both an assistant and optician. It was this experience that inspired Dr. Richardson to attend Optometry School. He attended Pacific University College of Optometry outside Portland, OR and graduated with distinction in 2004. He again returned to the Rogue Valley where he joined the Eye Care Group in Grants Pass Oregon 07/2004. He practiced there as main pediatric doctor and sports vision specialist until April of 2013. Dr. Richardson has served the Oregon Optometric Physicians As sociation and American Optometric Association in various positions throughout his career. He has been a sports vision consultant for several years with his company AIM (advanced image management) and has had the pleasure of working with shooting teams like the Noveske Shooting Team in 3-Gun. After a brief stent in Brookings Oregon with the Eye Center of Brookings and his friend Douglas Walker, OD Dr. Richardson is now back home in Rogue River, Oregon. He and his wife Jennifer started Rogue Family Eye Care and are eager to serve the Grants Pass and Rogue River areas with top notch vision care for the whole family.

Jennifer Richardson

Dr. Richardson is supported by his Clinic manager and wife Jennifer Richardson. Jennifer has been an optician and optometric assistant for nearly 18 years. She has worked in various practices from single doctor to large conglomerates. She is a very passionate about listening to each patient’s story so as to give them the best options and experience available.
